The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a huge success and accompanying the 23 movies are dozens of fan theories crafted by dedicated and eagle-eyed fans.
It is amazing how 23 different movies and several different heroes are brought together at the end to conclude the phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The 23 movies yet released include all the three phases of MCU.
The three phases and the movies covered in each phase
Iron Man (2008)
The Incredible Hulk (2008)
Iron Man 2 (2010)
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
The Avengers (2012)
The phase one of MCU includes separate stories of the avenger protagonists and concludes the phase one with the original avengers teamed up to protect the world against all sorts of threats. Iron Man shows us how Tony Stark used to be and what changed him to be a hero.
The Incredible Hulk shows the Hulk’s story and his attempted escape from the monster within him.
Captain America shows us the origin of Captain America from a very patriotic but physically weak man with a strong spirit to being Captain America. Thor shows us the story of a seemingly arrogant but good God, to a perfect gentleman and a worthy king.
The avengers combine these heroes and Natasha and Clint as well, who are two former spies and hence very well trained for combats, to form the original avengers team who save the world countless times.
Iron Man 3 (2013)
Thor: The Dark World (2013)
Captain America: The winter soldier (2013)
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
The phase 2 of MCU continues the journey of the previous avengers as they learn and grow further. It also takes us through the adventures of new heroes and groups. Iron man 3 continues the adventures of Iron Man as he learns that he has to put his arrogance aside for the sake of his loves ones sometimes. Thor the Dark World shows us the bond between the brothers Thor and Loki as they avenge the murder of their mother Frigga. Guardians of the galaxy shows us the formation of a new group as each of them leave behind their past to move towards a brighter future, to move on to save not just the world, but the entire galaxy. Avengers: Age of Ultron continues the journey of the original avengers as one of the Iron Man’s creation, Ultron, goes rogue and turns against the avengers.
The final movie of this phase, Ant-man introduces a new hero who can shrink and expand at will, and with Paul Rudd playing the ant-man, you are sure to be entertained.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Doctor Strange (2016)
Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2 (2017)
Spider-man Homecoming (2017)
Thor Ragnarok (2017)
Black Panther (2018)
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Ant-man and the wasp (2018)
Captain Marvel (2019)
Avengers Endgame (2019)
Spider-man: Far from home (2019)
The third phase of MCU includes the previous heroes and groups and introduces new heroes as well.
Captain America: Civil War shows the falling apart of the Avengers because of a difference of opinion. I do feel bad for poor
Bucky, but I certainly do not blame Tony Stark for wanting revenge on the guy who murdered his parents. Doctor Strange shows the story of an arrogant genius doctor and his journey to become a hero.
Guardians of the Galaxy continues the journey of the Guardians as through their adventures and the mystery of peter’s parents is revealed.
Spider-man shows the journey of Peter Parker as he joins the Avengers, and works with Tony Stark as an intern while going through his ups and downs trying to prove himself worthy.
Thor Ragnarok reveals a dark secret from Odin’s past, a nightmare, which was about to come out soon with passing away of the almighty Odin.
Black Panther introduces the Wakandian Prince, T’challa, who is the Black Panther.
They use Vibranium and various advanced technologies to protect Wakanda and would lend their hand to save the world as well.
The long-awaited Avengers: Infinity war had all the heroes discussed up till now trying to protect the world and the infinity stones from the alien ambush.
The heroes stand united to protect the world but it did not end up very well.
Ant-man and the wasp continues the previous story as new adventures follow.
Hank Pym’s past is revealed and there’s a surprising turn of events while trying to defeat the ghost.
Captain Marvel follows the story of Carol Danvers who was a pilot and after a certain incident, she was captured by Kree people and trained as their own.
On her Journey to Earth for a mission, she finds out the truth about herself and fights against the Kree to save the Skrulls. It’s her journey to become a hero.
Another awaited movie, Avengers: Endgame shows us the aftermath of the war.
The avengers attempt a time travel in order to get all the stones back and resurrect the fallen and change the consequences of war.
Avengers fans have a heart-warming theory about the time travel as Captain America chooses to stay in the past and returns as an old man.
The last movie of phase 3 is the aftermath of Endgame as Peter tries to cope with the loss of Tony Stark. Petre was entrusted by Tony Stark to take care of any threats that befall the Earth, and that’s what Peter does.
Heart-Warming Captain America theory
So, the time travel we talked about earlier, in ENDGAME, one of the sweetest fan theory revolves around that. As Marvel fans know Captain America chose to stay in the past with his one true love, Peggy Carter.
He returns to the future as an old man and hands the Captain America mantel and the shield to Sam Wilson, the Falcon.
The theory states that Stan Lee’s various cameos throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in fact Captain America in various disguises checking up on his friends.
At the time of time travel, Captain America looks to be around 30s of age.
Which means that in Iron man 1 Captain America would have been around 90s.
Stan Lee was 85 at the time of Iron Man 1, and considering that Captain America had taken the super serum, it is possible for him to look around 5-10 years younger in age.
They continue, whenever Captain America does so, he wears sunglasses and a moustache so that he does not cause any time paradoxes and complications.
Although there are some potholes with this theory, like in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Stan Lee, playing a guard, is surprised when the replica of the uniform Captain America used in the World War 2.
But if Stan Lee were Captain America, he would have known, and wouldn’t have been surprised. Besides, he is present in the past at the present age.
What I mean is, he is present in the time when Captain America was young, in an old age, which is impossible.
However, even though the theory may not be possible, there is nothing better than a theory that unites two of our favourites.
And the theory is so sweet and heart-warming, we can surely neglect some plot holes like this.
