One of the most longstanding franchise that have been getting stronger with each films is definitely The Final Destination.
The movies are thrilling, emotional and shocking to say the least.
The franchise has been in business for over 10 years and still attracts fans from all sorts of age. It has five films, two comic books and nine novels in the franchise.
The films profited over 500 million dollars worldwide.

Final Destination (2000)
A group of high school students board the Flight 180 to Paris for their senior year when a student named Alex has a premonition of the flight crashing.
He gets panicked and alarms the students beside him, so some of them get out of the plane and scold Alex while the plane really crashes.
Everyone is skeptical about Alex and his involvement in the crash and soon the people who have survived from the crash start to die one by one.
From a mortician, Alex learns that he has cheated Death and the lives that were supposed to be dead are getting killed in various circumstances one by one.
Alex tries to warn his friends but one after other dies anyway.
Alex, Clear and Carter are the only people who survived because they have skipped others and cheated Death again.
However, due to a strange accident we see that Carter and Alex gets killed by a swinging sign. The film was one of a kind and received mixed reviews when it was released.
However, the movie won many awards and got a cult following them and there.
Final Destination 2 (2003)
The sequel of the film released after 3 years with a new set of characters and plot line but with the same outcome. Kimberly along with her friends travel down in Route 23 on the one year anniversary of Flight 180 crash. While waiting in the traffic jam, Kim has a premonition of a pileup which kills everyone in the road so she stops her vehicle in the middle causing many of the passengers to halt.
Officer Burke comes to question Kim but the pileup occurs and kills Kim’s friends as well. Kim and Officer Burke seek the help of Clear, only survivor of the plane crash.
She reluctantly agrees to help them and makes them meet the mortician. He tells them that a ‘new life’ might bring a change upon their fate.
So, they try to track down one of the survivors, Isabella who is pregnant.
Everything goes awry when the survivors start to die one by one in the order they should have died in the pileup. Isabella gives birth but Kim has another premonition where she drowns in the lake.
She drives a car into the lake and gets rescued by Burke and together they cheat Death once again but a person who was skipped by Death gets killed in the last moment. This film also had mixes reviews and grossed the least in the franchise.
Final Destination 3 (2006)
Wendy visits the amusement park along with her friends in a field trip.
After sitting in the roller coaster, she foresees the roller coaster crashing and killing all the people in it.
Because of the commotion she created, 10 people get off but others ride in it and unfortunately dies.
Wendy and her friend Kevin who survived looks into the premonition but soon realise that they are stuck in the cat and mouse chase with Death after the survivors start dying one by one.
Only at the end, Wendy finds that her sister Julie also got down from the ride.
So, she and Kevin rescue her and seems to be the only three people who cheat death.
Later, the three of them meet coincidentally in a train and Wendy has a premonition of all of them dying and ends with a loud thud.
The third film in the franchise was widely popular for using the basic fear of roller coaster in a thrilling movie like this.
The innovative ideas of death in the movie was also hugely talked about.
Final Destination 4 (2009)
Nick O’Bannon goes to race car show with his friends and girlfriend Lori.
He has a premonition of the cars crashing into the audience which kills everyone.
He escapes the scene with a few people who were stuck in the middle.
As per his premonition, the crash occurs and one by one the survivors also die of various cause.
Lori saves a friend who was about to die and they believe that they’ve cheated Death again and broke the chain but Nick has another premonition where Lori dies in a theatre.
He somehow saves her while getting injured himself.
After a few months, Nick, Lori and their friend Janet who survived sit in a café and celebrate their survival. Nick starts to see omens that something bad is gonna happen.
As luck would have it, a truck comes crashing into the café killing all of them. The movies ends with showing their corpses.
The film was released in HD 3D and despite earning the highest amount in box office in the franchise, this movie also received many negative remarks.
Final Destination 5 (2011)
Sam Lawton goes to a company retreat in a bus along with his colleagues.
While he was in the North Bay Bridge, he foresees the bridge collapsing and everyone dying in it.
So, he runs with his ex-girlfriend, Molly and his friends and boss. After they get to a safe place, they see the bridge collapsing and cars and buses crash and everyone dying.
After they return to a normal life, one after one the survivors start to die.
Sam believes that it is Death’s pattern and everyone are going to die in the order they were supposed to die. His friends doesn’t believe him and gets killed one by one.
Sam’s friend Peter try to kill Molly as he has lost his girlfriend but Sam protects her by killing him.
They think that they have escaped Death and board a plane to Paris. It is the infamous Flight 180 where it all began.
Alex causes a commotion and get out of the plane but Sam and Molly fail to do so and die in the flight crash. The films came in full circle with the climax of this movie.
This was the only film of the franchise that received the most positive reviews and became a great goodbye to the fans of the franchise.
