Cursed is the latest show to come out of Netflix’s well-stocked list. It is a dark magical fantasy and adventurous story. It is based on a graphic novel by 300 and Sin City comic book legend Frank Miller. Cursed is a show unlike any other. Some people are even calling it the female-driven version of the Netflix show, The Witcher.
The story of King Arthur and his legendary sword, Excalibur, is exemplary. The escapades of Arthur and his knights of the round table have been told for ages. Soon, Netflix is delivering a live-action show derived from this context. Cursed, is the show which re-establishes the Arthurian tales, however, it is shown from an entirely new viewpoint.
The Premise
The premise itself is so gripping and interesting. It is more inclined towards a fantasy / mystical adventure story and is unlike any other magical/fictional show you have seen. Cursed, brings us the story of Nimue, more elegantly known as the Lady of the Lake (played by 13 Reasons Why’s famous actress Katherine Langford), as she finds herself inevitably in a war amidst magic and the church. Somewhere on the way of her scary and tedious journey, she picks up the “cursed” Excalibur. It only gets better from there.
The Trailer
The second trailer that came out just recently, it elaborated on the first teaser. We see that Nimue has been given the duty to bring this fascinating sword to Merlin, by her mother. Although, it later appeals to her deep desires to retain the sword for herself. We have reason to believe that, this sword consists of dark magical powers and it tempts those who wield it. And makes them do questionable things. The trailer explains much of the direction in which the storyline and show will follow.
Cast Of The Show
Apart from the outstanding storyline and fascinating setting of the show. It also has a very experienced and marvelous cast. The show stars, Katherine Langford as Nimue, Devon Terrell as Arthur, Gustaf Skarsgård as Merlin. And Peter Mullan, Shalom Brune-Franklin, and Daniel Sharman as the Weeping Monk.
Release Date
The series is scheduled to debut on Netflix on July 17, 2020.
This show has everything it needs to make it 2020’s best fantasy series. A strong cast, fascinating storyline, and moreover a great concept. It will definitely entertain you, we hope you enjoy watching it.
