Hello again everyone. Those of you who do have the paid service to Netflix must have known Lost in Space and those who don’t probably heard of it in 2018. So, have you watched it? Does it remind you of something?.
Do not fuss. I’ll tell you all about Lost in Space that I am aware of. Let’s start with the renewal of the show for its third season. Yes, Lost in Space season 3 is confirmed!!!
The history:
The Netflix series Lost in Space is a reimagining of a 1965 series of the same name which was inspired by a comic Swiss family Robinson from the 1800’s. The first season, released in April 2018, topped the charts right behind Stranger Things. The second season released in December 2019, but did not bag any first positions.
On March 9th 2020, the official Twitter handle for Netflix announced its renewal for a third season. This is the last season, Lost in Space was always imagined to be a trilogy.

The plot of Lost in Space:
If you have watched it then you already know but I’ll walk you through the plot of Lost in Space roughly anyway.
30 years into the future, earth is about to be hit by a galactic mass which could cause extinction of our species. (… isn’t that how dinosaurs supposedly went extinct???…). Certain families were chosen to be sent in a spaceship to our neighbouring planetary system of the star Alpha Centauri. (…yes, it’s a real star…). The Robinson family is one of those families.
On their way to colonise the neighbouring habitable planet, the main ship Resolute is struck by aliens and the families evacuate it on smaller ships but crash into a wormhole. The Robinson family is stranded on an unnamed habitable planet. They are literally Lost in Space. Will Robinson, the youngest of them, helps and befriends a robot who returns his help and becomes his pet.
In season 1 and 2, we watch Robinson family with their three children, Dr. Smith and Don with Debbie the chicken, go through many adventures. Most of them are really traumatising but the fight for survival has to go on right?. They all try to get back to Alpha Centauri but at the end of season 2, the children were separated from their parents. Everyone went hurtling into different galactic systems and there was a lot going on. Be observant when you watch and please have some popcorn handy for the anxiety you’ll feel.
Expectations:
Now that Lost in Space season 3 is confirmed, I expect for everyone to find emotional peace. The children appeared in an unknown system where they saw Fortuna which is the ship that mysteriously vanished twenty years back. Guess who was piloting it? Judy Robinson’s biological father!.
More emotional outbursts are on the way I’m guessing. The Robinson kids are growing up and this is the only season they get to make it back to Alpha Centauri. My favourite character here is Debbie the chicken, she’s just out there ‘vibing’. I hope all ends well for Lost in Space. Look forward to Netflix in 2021, most shows are postponed due to the pandemic just like this one.
