There hasn’t been a single person who have not swooned over teen drama with vampires, witches and much more. The most famous teen drama of that sort is The Vampire Diaries. Here is a look into the ninth season of the series,
The Vampire Diaries is an American teen drama that premiered in 2009 in The CW. The show was created by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. The series was adapted from the book series of L.J. Smith. The show premiered at the time when the entire world was obsessed with the Twilight series which redefined the gothic drama and vampires. Vampires were looked upon as a normal guy and even liked and fantasised by many girls after the movies. The show attempted to do the same and succeeded in it.
The show is about a naive high school girl named Elena who meets Stefan. She finds him intriguing and is drawn closer to him only to realise that him and his brother are vampires who are living in the world for hundreds of years. The show has a total of 8 seasons and 171 episodes so the plot line of the series changed drastically. There were numerous characters in the show. Some were werewolves, witches, vampires, and also humans.
The show went on to show the harmony and love they have for each other despite their true selves. Even though, their primary characteristic is to hunt and kill their enemies, they were above that basic urge and be true friends who face problems together. In season 8, we see that Stefan sacrifices himself for the sake of his brother and friends and all of them go on their own path and strife to live their lives. The show had two spin-offs namely, The Originals and Legacies where some of these characters are a regular.
Recently, there have been rumours that season 9 of the show is going to released but it is only rumour. The writers have denied it and the lead actors of the show have said in interviews that they have moved on and would not go back to the show even it is renewed so there is no chance on it being renewed as per statements. The show is still loved by a lot of people and has a loyal fanbase. The show ended in 2017 but the show is still running on various channels and is highly viewed in streaming platforms.
